The Hartford Scores Again in 2023 JUST 100 List of Leading Companies
/The Hartford, for the fifth straight year, has been named to the 2023 JUST 100 list by JUST Capital and CNBC. Overall, The Hartford ranked No. 32 for its commitment to serving employees, customers, communities, the environment, and shareholders.
The Hartford also ranked No. 1 in the insurance industry for its support of communities through job creation, community development, human rights as well as charitable giving and volunteering.

Overall, Bank of America topped the list for the first time, with NVIDIA, Microsoft, Accenture, Truist, Verizon, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Apple, Intel, and JPMorgan Chase rounding out the top 10.
Since 2015, JUST Capital has surveyed more than 160,000 Americans on what Issues they believe U.S. companies should prioritize when it comes to just business behavior. Those Issues become the foundation by which JUST Capital tracks, analyzes, and incentivizes corporate behavior change, including the Rankings of America’s Most JUST Companies.
JUST evaluated 951 companies across 5 stakeholders, 20 Issues, and 245 raw data points to produce the 2023 Rankings, including the JUST 100 and Industry Leader lists.
Among the Connecticut businesses earning a place on the JUST 100 list was CIGNA at #16 overall and 1st of 22 health care providers. Raytheon Technologies was #52, Eversource was #83 and 6th among 39 utilities.
Also for the fifth consecutive year, The Hartford was included in the 2022 FTSE4Good IndexSeries, a Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) series designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong environmental, social and governance practices.
In 2022, The Hartford was also recognized as a sustainability leader by being named to the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for the eleventh time. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices are the standard for assessing a company’s environmental, social and governance performance. The indices are maintained collaboratively by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM.
